A Noun (nome) is a person, place, or thing. A verb(verbi) is a part of speech that usually denotes action and an Adjective(aggettiv) is a word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically related to a noun to modify or describe it.

I had an understanding of what a noun, adjective, and verb are prior to the course, and my understanding that there are both masculine and feminine words came from learning Spanish in high school and speaking Russian as a second language because the languages too, like most European languages share this distinction of nouns and adjectives.

As Portuguese and Italian nouns can be used for both masculine and feminine different by English are gender neutral. So my advice to learn the language is memorizing the rules of grammar.
